It gives me the same message that the update doest not apply to your system. I am using Vista Ultimate x86 32bit

It says the same to me, that it does not apply to my system (Vista Ultimate x64), but the issue still happens. I had to turn AHCI off and set it back to ATA, which causes a performance loss.

Vista proclaimed that the update (support.microsoft.com/kb/314060) does not apply to my system (Vista Basic).
