Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool is a free security utility from Microsoft that checks Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003 computer for infection by specific, prevalent malicious software (including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom) and helps to remove the infection if it is found. Beware of the newer versions of this software!It will remove any no-cd fixes for games, serials for certain software, and make certain file-sharing programs like limewire, not function any longer. Its sad we can no longer trust microsoft enough to have unattended updates.

It appears that the latest release of this software - July 9th - has hosed Oracle XE on my XP system. Even re-installing Oracle doesn’t help. I can no longer use my machine as an Oracle test server until I can get rid of this ‘malicious’ software.
