I&#039;ve been searching the internet and found zilch on how to fix my codec CCITT ulaw 7 problem in window media player. 

I found that it was a basic ocdec in windows player that got &#039;hosed&#039; somehow.  So  I followed your directions and reinstalled it and BINGO that fixed it!

Again, awesome write up!  I wish I could buy you a drink!
