AMD Introduced SSE5 Instruction Set Extensions

sse5.jpgAMD has just announced the new X86 SSE5 (Streaming SIMD Extensions Version 5) instruction-set extensions yesterday for its future product lines. Although the implementation will only take place in year 2009 in its next generation core, codenamed as Bulldozer, but the specification has been released to developer community now. This has marked a meaningful milestone for AMD in the evolution for its processor architecture ahead of its competitor, Intel when defining a new standard for the community. If you recall, Intel has came out with SSE-SSE4 extensions instruction standard for the market since Pentium III to tackle AMD’s 3D Now! capability and now AMD seems to go to release the latest version of SSE5 ahead of Intel.

Candle in the Wind 1997 - 10th Anniversary of Princess Diana Death

Lady Di Princess Diana10 years ago this day, Princess Diana aka Lady Di was killed in a car crash. At her funeral in Westminster Abbey on 6 September 1997, Elton John, a English pop singer, composer and pianist, sang Candle in the Wind 1997 edition or Goodbye England’s Rose to pay tribute to Diana, remembered by many as Poeple’s Princess. It turns out that the performance by Elton John in Diana’s funeral, where he sang “Candle In The Wind 1997″ in public, was for the first and also the only time in history, and likely to be the final time to hear it sang by Elton John in any public concert, as John swore he would never play that version of the song live again due to the emotion envolved.

Microsoft has released a preview of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) to a small group of testers for evaluation before a broader Beta release via Technet and MSDN, and public download later on. However, this Vista SP1 Beta preview release, which in actual should be named ‘alpha version’ considering possible bugs contained inside it, has been leaked to P2P download sites, and available for download via BitTorrent (BT) and ED2K (eDonkey or eMule) file sharing network. If you really feel that your Vista system needs servicing immediately and can no longer wait, then download and apply this pre-beta SP1 package at your own risk. You will be lucky if this preview beta release doesn’t make the system messier.

Sony 60GB Playstation PS3 End Of Life

Move Vista Desktop Recycle Bin to Sidebar with RecycleBin Gadget

Don’t want any ‘rubbish’ on Vista desktop to spoil the beautifulness of your favorite background wallpaper or animated DreamScene video motion desktop? Recycle Bin icon on the desktop may be an eyesore to some people, especially given the attractive and elegant user interface of Vista. And in fact, Microsoft has made it easy to remove or delete Recycled Bin icon by simply select “Delete” in the right click contextual menu. With Recycle Bin sidebar gadget, a new Recycle Bin icon can be put up Vista sidebar, allowing easy access to Recycle Bin functions such as one click empty the bin while removing the bin icon from desktop.
