Qantas Announced Wirelesss Internet Access On The Plane

For those that are looking for seamless connectivity even when you are on the flight, you won’t be disappointed again. Qantas, an Australian airlines has announced that satellite-based internet service will be available on its new Airbus A380s starting from August 2008.

The passengers will have options of whether to use their own laptops or use the built in seatback inflight entertainment systems to surf net or chat online via instant messenger. However, there is no detail on whether VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) will be supported yet. Probably making voice calls will be annoying and disturbing others while on the plane. For those passengers that prefer to use their own laptops, there will be power sockets available in every seat for laptop charging. Besides, common ports such as USB and RJ45 will also be provided for internet connection and handheld devices charging.

Embotec Unveiled Magnetic Levitation Keyboard

Embotec recently unveiled a new keyboard technology known as Magnetic Levitation Keyboard in Korea market that utilizes magnetic to keep the buttons ‘floating’ on the keyboard. The new concept is based on basic physics principal of magnetic force between two pieces of magnet with same poles that tends to repulse each other and thus creates  ‘floating’ buttons on top of magnetic-based keyboard.

Change and Set Vista Shadow Copy or System Restore Disk Space Limit in Explorer GUI

Windows Vista users can easily change the amount of local disk space limit that Volume Shadow Copy and System Restore can used to create restore points on the system which backup files and folders for recovery by using VSSadmin. However, the process involves usage of command prompt shell and manual typing of commands, which some users may not be comfortable with. Here’s an alternative way to change and set a new limit to the size of hard disk space that Shadow Copy related services can used.

Barcelona by AMD is On Track

The world leading chipmaker, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), announced its new quad core processor, “Barcelona” will make its global debut in the in August. The Barcelona processor by AMD was formerly called Quad-Core Opteron. It runs at clock frequencies up to 2GHz and available in standard and low power versions. This processor will improve the PC’s overall memory performance with native quad-core processing.
