ChinaUnicom Offers Music Download Service
China’s second largest mobile phone carrier and telecommunications operator, China Unicom (China United Telecommunications Corporation), announced its grand offer to subscribers to download music/songs from 23 record companies via its new music download service.
This music/songs download service, Xuan Qu, is in trial and testing period. Subscribers can download songs offered by reputable record companies such as EMI Group, Warner Music Group Corp, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Univeral Music Grop, etc to their cell phone at an affordable price ranging from 39 cents to 66 cents.It is a value-added service for customers. Besides, China Unicom also hopes to reduce piracy and copyright issues by offering customers low cost and convenient channels to legally buy songs.
China Unicom offers the trial service until the end of September and it will review and refine the service for a second trial.
