Samsung Latest 70-Inch Full HD LCD TV With Local Dimming Technology
Korea consumer electronics giant, Samsung has introduced the largest (70-inch) commercially available full HD (high definition 1080p) LCD TV that got a new feature called Local Dimming Technology. With the Samsung’s unique local dimming technology, the LED (light-emitting diode) backlight can be turned off in dark image areas to get blacks as dark as possible, delivering an incredible dynamic contrast ratio of 500,000:1 and also reduces the power consumption as much as 50%.

“I am pleased to introduce the 70-inch full HD LCD TV with innovative Local Dimming Technology,” said JongWoo Park, president of the digital media business, Samsung. “Samsung will continue to strengthen its LCD TV leadership, enhancing full HD and large screen LCD TV line-up.” In addition, Samsung plans to put this full HD LCD TV that costs about $63k on sale worldwide in the second half of this year.
