New Seven Wonders of the World
If you can believe a list of new 7 Wonders of the World created by a for-profit company which trying to earn money by all means, including allowing buying extra votes with money, then you probably want to participate in the global exercise to vote for the new Seven Wonders of the World.
New 7 Wonders of the World is an initiative to propose a revision of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World, organized by a Swiss-based, money-making corporation called New Open World Corporation (NOWC). As mentioned, the selection, based on vote via phone, SMS or online from the public, is being made by free and paid votes. To vote you have to register as New7Wonders members and will be allocated 7 free votes to vote for 7 different candidates. If you feel that one vote is not enough, and you want to vote again, you can call or SMS (extra charge apply) to vote again for unlimited times. But while you doing so, NOWC will collect its revenue from telecommunication operators.
Why there is a need for New 7 Wonders of the World is unclear. Why it’s a project NOWC is more intriguing, as the NOWC aim is for documenting, maintaining, restoring and reconstructing world heritage under the motto “Our Heritage is Our Future”, clearly not related to maintain the list of 7W of the World, except of the chance to profiteering from it with private donations, merchandise sales, revenue from selling broadcasting rights, voting charges, and a useless voting certificate.
By the way, below is the list of original Seven Wonders of the World from ancient times, compiled based on guide-books popular among Hellenic sight-seers. Due to the transportation difficulty in ancient times, you would have expect only structures located around the area of reach – Mediterranean rim was included. All had destroyed and non-existent except the Giza Pyramids. Wikipedia also has various lists of modern Wonders, created by various organization for different purposes. Best of all, Internet is included in one of the list USA Today and Good Morning America.
- The Temple of Artemis
- The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
- The Colossus of Rhodes
- The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
- The Lighthouse at Alexandria
- The Pyramids at Giza
- The Statue of Zeus
Official declaration ceremony of the New Wonders of the World will be held on Saturday, 7.7.2007 in Lisbon, Portugal. Mind you, you need to buy a not cheap tickets ranging from Euro 55 to Euro 140 plus booking fees to enter into the ceremony venue. Anyway, you can still cast your vote until the eve of the event, i.e 6 July 2007.

I am looking for 7 wonders of life, for example: hear, see, touch, feel, smell, laugh, love. Smell might not be one. There are the other 7 wonders of the world, but these are the 7 wonders of life. I saw this somewhere and was trying to download this. It has some music with it and is quite touching. Can you help me out?
Thanks,
Guenther
