Hack to Activate Microsoft Office 2007 Evaluation Trial Version
Most suites or programs of Microsoft Office 2007 allows user to evaluate the product. The trial version of 2007 Microsoft Office system can be installed by using a 25-character trial product key available from Microsoft while you download the free Office software, and you can use the Microsoft Office 2007 suite or program with full functionality for 60 days.
You may have the Office 2007 CD and are able to install Office 2007 without entering product key. However, Office 2007 will work in reduced functionality mode, where it’s effectively just a viewer for Office documents. Beside, if you forget the trial product key, or don’t wish to register a Windows Live ID to get the trial key, here’s the trick to activate Office 2007, or more correctly, bypass the activation of Office 2007 60 days trial, and making the “trial” word disappear from the Office title at the top and suppress activation and trial expiry prompt.
Note that to use Microsoft Office 2007 beyond 60 days trial period, you need to purchase a valid license for it, available from Amazon
To use this hack to crack activation on Office 2007, you need to install Office 2007 without any serial number or product key. If you have installed Office 2007 with a product key or serial number, do the following to clean remove Office 2007 of product key:
- Close all Microsoft Office applications.
- Run Register Editor by clicking on Start -> Run, and then type “regedit” in the Open box and press Enter key.
- Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
Note that inside the registry key, there should be another subkey that resembles the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{90120000-0030-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{91120000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE
- If there is more than one registry entries or subkeys that reference Microsoft 12.0 registration, open up each subkey, and then identify the product by the ProductName value data until you locate the subkey for the product which you want to remove the existing product license key.
For example:
ProductName=Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007
ProductName=Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - Once found the correct registry subkey, delete the following values:
DigitalProductID
ProductID - Close Registry Editor.
Once Microsoft Office 2007 has been installed with no product key, proceed with the following steps:
- In Windows Explorer, brose to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\Office Setup Controller\Proof.en\
- Right click on Proof.XML file, select “Open With…” in the right click menu.
- In the “Open With” window, select Notepad to be used to open the XML file. In Vista, if you can’t see the Notepad option, simply double click the “Other Programs” to unhide it.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Proof.XML to locate the following lines:
</Feature> <Feature Id=”SetupXmlFiles” Cost=”1248″>
<OptionRef Id=”AlwaysInstalled”/>
</Feature> - Change the AlwaysInsalled to neverInstalled so that the line looks like following:
<OptionRef Id=”neverInstalled”/>
- Save the Proof.xml file. In Windows Vista, you may need to take ownership and grant full access permission to yourself before able to modify the file.
- You can now launch Microsoft Office 2007 application such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and etc without prompting for activation.
As usual, as it’s a hack, and before you purchase a valid product key for it, you won’t be able to AND can’t access any updates or Microsoft Office Online.
Note: The hack may work for 60 days only. To make this hack fully working, try to delete additional file below, probably has to be deleted every two months:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA\opa12.dat
Or,
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA (for Windows 7 and Vista)

this “hack” is nothing more than a little trick which takes off the pop up for the product key and such.
the time bomb which will lock microsoft office is still intack.
the hack does not remove that.
well as a matter of fact, u can uninstall it, but only through the painstaking process of removing each subregistry key and such. its a pain in the ass. ur trail will expire and it will lock up. then u WILL have to manuelly uninstall each little tidbit of the Microsoft office. and u cant even jst buy the full version to “wash” out the trial. so please spare urself the troubles of listening to this “savior” cuz it does not work.”

I am attempting to follow this instruction but when I try to find the productID file it isn’t there. In fact, there is not a single file that ends in __ID. I am running the M. Office 2007 German Home and Student Vrs. Please help me.

I attempted following this procedure on the Office 2007 German Student vrs. up until where you are asked to delete the ProductID file. I haven’t found a single __ID file on the list. What am I supposed to delete then?

I downloaded MS office 2007 professional version 60 trial version with a product key provided by microsoft and installed it on my computer. Then,I came to know a trick which could convert this free trial version into a permanent version. Trick was as follows:
1.Click on Start button, then click on Run.
2.Type “regedit” (without quotes) in the Run text box, and click OK or press Enter.
3.Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
Inside, you will find another subkey that resembles the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{30120000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}
4. Deleted the following two filed:
• DigitalProductID
• ProductID
5. Go to RUN and locate file Proof.en
6.In the bottom changed AlwaysInstalled into NeverInstalled and saved it.
It worked for couple of days but after a few days it ceased working.Now I can not even uninstall MS office because of those two filed I had deleted. I tried to download free trial version again and setup from the beginning but it does not work either because of the same reason.
Could you please help me out this problem?Thanks!

after posting my confirmation today, ive been surpirsed to read that some people have problems. in fact, this is it:
1. for ms 2007 enterprise professional sp2 (including basic products, excluding visio and project), i can only suggest the following serial it worked for me:
(may delete your current key first in order to be prompted to insert serial again . more details on deleting your current serial: see step 1 in the original posting)
2. for visio and project 2007 professinal (english) trial, i ve been using the method above (s, original post) by modifying the english file (…en\proof.xml). what i can notice is, it didnt only exit the popup activation prompt but also: the product works fully now ! (those who installed visio and project 2007 pro, they know that if you dont activate the prodcuts, you wil only be able to “try” the menu, see the buttos, etc…without right to create new file for example…)
the activation method works for visio and project. how long? hmm well see… i can only confirm that it didnt only exit the popup prompt, but more…

i can confirm it worked with m§ Visio and project 2007 pro [english] trial.
in fact it is very important to delete the first key entered (the trial one) then EXIT regedit !! .
once done, you must cut the proof.xml file and paste it somewhere else (for example on desktop) where you can edit it (i used win text editor, u can use notepad too). just edit the line, close and confirm saving then re-paste the file to its original directory,
start m$ offi..,
done.

If you want to uninstall it, you have to change the file back to Always Installed WITH A CAPITAL A!!!!

He is a asshole, pls do not use this process. it will become pain in the ass.. you will not be able to use product after 30 days and most important is you cannot uninstall the program you are going to be in a big problem

Hello!
I have Microsoft Office 2007 in Slovene. I did what is described in article and it worked almoast two weeks. But now my MS Office is locked again. What to do now? I changed also XML file in directory proof.sl, but it still doesn’t work. Any suggestion? Mail me – matjaz.loviscek@gmail.com
