Panasonic and Maxis collaboration in Remote Mobile Surveillance Solution
With the growth of 3G network subscriber and coverage in Malaysia, Panasonic Malaysia and Maxis Communication has joint effort to offer a remote mobile surveillance solution to its subscribers recently.
The service, which was developed by JW Network, Maxis authorized service provider, integrates Panasonic IP-based network camera with Maxis’ remote surveillance solution.
The solution is claimed to be very affordable with monthly access of RM20 and start up kit of an IP-based Panasonic camera costs around RM450 only. At this affordable pricing, the subscribers have unlimited session of monitoring their homes, office and belongings remotely anywhere under Maxis 3G coverage area.
As of today, there are about 300,000 Maxis 3G users in Malaysia. This is expected to be doubled by end of 2007. With the tremendous increase of the subscriber numbers, Panasonic hopes to grow its total market segment in this arena with collaboration with service provider. It expects to sell more than 6000 units of its latest security network cameras in this year.
