Disney Family for mothers
The Walt Disney has launched its new website, Disney Family, a one-stop website for parents especially mothers who are increasingly browsing the internet to seek solutions for problems from teething their babies to financing college education. This new website will provide everything from internet search to user-generated articles on key topics such as food and education, and eventually, a “ParentPedia”, a compilation of information on 1,000 topics that can be expanded by users.
Disney Family is still in the testing stages. Mothers who launched their own blogs are also featured on the sites. Disney who has formed an advisory board especially for the purpose has recorded nine million hits for these “Mummy Bloggers.” Mums should be attracted to a feature in the site which is the “Family 1000”, a pre-filtered list of smaller websites that are not instantly found on searchers using traditional search engines such as Google and Yahoo!
