Sony RAW Driver (codec) for Windows Vista Free Download

For Sony Cyber-shot DSC-R1 and Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 users or most other Sony digital cameras users that can capture image in RAW format, Sony has released Sony RAW Driver (codec) which allows RAW data with file extension of ARW, SR2 or SRF to be displayed in Windows Explorer or Windows Photo Gallery in the same way as JPEG files. The RAW codec even allows automatic preview of RAW image as thumbnail, and enable manipulation on RAW picture just as a JPG file, such as print, open, tag and etc.

Sony RAW Codec for Windows Vista currently supports RAW format images created by the following digital cameras:

• DSC-R1
• DSLR-A100
• DSLR-A100H
• DSLR-A100K
• DSLR-A100W

If you’re using Windows Photo Gallery, click on ‘Check for updates’ will bring up a page with links to the downloads, else you can download Sony RAW Driver directly from here.

If you prefer to download from the manufacturer (Sony) site, go to Sony Drivers and Software page. Select either α (alpha) Cameras or Cyber-shot Cameras, and then click on Go button. Then select the appropriate country, series (optional) and modal. When prompted with “What type of Software or Drivers are you looking for?”, click on “Everything”, then select your Windows Vista edition in the drop down menu. The Sony RAW Driver is one of the option available for free download.
