   the 1102 P5B (vanilla) bios has to be flashed in dos, if not it will not be unusable; the system will hang on any reboots after the initial reboot. You have to power it off from the wall, and then back on after 10 seconds to solve this and then flash it in dos. That is an Asus problem though…nothing to do with your mods. It works once it is flashed through dos on a bootable floppy or usb memory stick.

   Now onto the modified ones, I used the bioses modified by both Niko76 at the top of the page (P5B = P5B Vanilla to signify that its a non-deluxe) and also the one at the link you posted @O Indigente in #1360. I get check sum errors with both, none of my settings will save in the bios using your modified bioses. Always asks me to go into the bios or laod defaults and continue.

   Once I re flash the non-modified bios back onto the board, the check sum error goes away. Can you guys please give it another shot? here is the link to the asus bios.

   There is also an older one that works perfectly, but I am not sure if it supports SL modifications or not. this was trhe last one that actually worked properly!

   Also i try this: bios for Asus P5W DH Deluxe
   i flashed the bios with modded first and works great but when i was going to re-flash the original 2001 bios vista goes to trial again.

   Flash first modded bios, then use asus update and reflash original (FC area will not be overwritten). It should work.

   A7N8X Deluxe rev 2.0 bios version 1008 APIC replaced with SLIC and ACPI table amended with the public key info. Use this bios you will need to re-install vista. If you dual boot with xp if your comp is detected as an ACPI comliant pc you will also need to re-install, but if it is detected as a Standard PC it seems to be ok.

   BIOS modified with 1.5Gb RAM installed, should work on other ram sizes no hard coding of the SLIC memory address was needed. But try at your own risk.

   I found p5pe-vm BIOS mod by U on this page.This is the one we have talked about on IRC. I thought u did it, but…there is something wrong. It´s a bin file´. It must be a AMI rom file. Please correct error.

    They do activate VISTA or not?

    There are no mod to acpitbl.bin or original.bin, are exactly the same of the oficial ASUS bios.

    Plz confirme if they work, for other users to know, and flash ther boards safely.
