Garmin GPS Review
Sometimes it’s not just about what should you bring, but how in the hell you get there. If you’re like me (a guy) you can proabably make it from Point A to Point B in record time. The problem is, Point B is not actually your destination, but somewhere a mile or two from it. Now, I’ve been wanting a GPS for years but was concerned my wife thought it too expensive of a “toy.” So I did the next best thing… I bought her one for Christmas. (Kind of like Homer buying Marge a bowling ball) And the funny thing is, she has this amazing internal compass. She hardly ever needs the GPS, so it usually resides with me.

The Garmin Garmin Nuvi 360 does everything you want and more. The Bluetooth technology links seamlessly with your cell phone for handsfree conversations. Map and audio directions put you exactly where you want to go. It can also find restaurants by genre and distance, as well as lodging and gas stations. Did I mention it’s also an MP3 player? One of the coolest features is the optional up to date traffic reports. It automatically processes the information on your route, and takes you around the problem. Now, onto the city guide… not in your car, on foot. Once you’ve decided on your restaurant, museum, or Broadway Show, it’ll take you to the front door.
I’ve been using it for a little over a month and it works flawlessly. The touchscreen makes inputting destinations a snap. Due to the small size and many functions, I don’t ever see myself having to buy my wife another one… till next year.

I cannot find the registration section on your website for the Garmin nuvi 200W/250W purchased from Halfords, Canterbury yesterday - can you help please?
Also, I have the 16 page quick start manual but wondered if there was a more comprehensive manual to go with this: Halfords don’t have one.

I’m in Australia and cannot register my garmin. There are no contact numbers in Australia, and to mail them in US or Europe, you have to type in your user name etc. The stupid thing is I am contacting them because I can’t register. Someone please help

TO Pico:
I too find it funny that everyone is on here asking about their registration. They should be going to http://www.garmin.com to register their product. I guess they need a GPS unit to find there way around the web as well.

Good review, you provide a lot of quality info. This unit is really a deal for all the muscle/features it packs. Truly a great unit for the price.
I picked up some european maps and they worked great for a trip I took. Very nice to get a cheap unit that allows for map expansion. Anyone looking for entry level and accuracy, this is a good place to start looking.
I’ve got a UI video here and a few more pics for anyone interested:

most of the filberts on here with their registration problems are they have stolen units with no box and as such cannot complete the registration form for the updgrade etc
this will teach them not to:
1) steal hard working peoples garmin nuvis
2) purchase goods off heroin addicts or 14 year old theiving chaves!
i laugh in your face
hahahahhahhahaahahhahahahah

I have recently purchased a 2nd hand “Garmin Nuvi 310 ”
I purchased it with the data lead, the car charger and mount but no box or manual.
it was in reasonable condition so i paid £75 uk pounds for it ( about $150 )
I purchased it with cash from a ” gentleman ” from the car boot sale, he looked honest.
He changed the home location to my own etc and gave me basic instructions on how to use it.
i have wanted to update it and visited the ” Garmin ” website. i wanted to register it so if it was stolen they would somehow deactivate it, but…… as i do not have the box i do not have a registration code, this means at best i cannot update it, and at worst it is a stolen unit.
now im wondering how to find out whether it is a stolen unit, or how i can register it without the registration number, also if it is stolen then how would i go about claiming back what i paid for it or will i just have an empty pocket and a space on my windscreen?
