Only for beginers? Iam Pro...and i like this as much as i like my D200...ofcourse the weight matters sometime. But i'll go with Ken Rockwell that with these 3 DSLR's namely D40,D40x & D80 [All of Nikon]...vote goes mainly for D40. With a 55-200mm VR AF-S lens for those who wants More Zoom, With a 60mm AF-S Micro [Not for serious macro...but good for general macro & portraits] & with the kit lens [18-55mm]...this is a wild selection! I dont like flash photography...but if needed i use SB400.
