cool :D
i just want this HDCP protection crap to go away so i can use my 2405fpw when i can afford a HD-DVD player.

i'm thinking of writing a little program that will check a number of hosted keydb files and update the current, while adding the current keydb file to the servers.
i would get it to upload to one site, and have that upload to the other sites using php instead of the user uploading to all sites.

maybe even add a check to compare it to the current hd-dvd if that's possible.
(or does this already do that?)

would just need support from alot of sites to get users to use the program.

Why has there not been a release of a tool to do this automatically?

at worst it would be easy enough to write a macro to use WinHex and WinDVD (or use there dll's) and append to KEYDB.cfg.
if i had a hd-dvd drive i'd do it myself..

but wouldn't it also be possible to reproduce the method the software players use to retrieve and store the title keys?
