The information on Readyboost misses a key point about the main reason why a USB key is ok to be used as temporary write behind cache where system RAM isn't - it's NON VOLATILE. So if you have a power outage, on reboot Vista will be able to apply any pending writes still on the USB key to disk so files aren't corrupted by partial block-level updates. System memory is volatile so it's used as read-ahead cache only, using system dynamic RAM as a block-level write-behind cache is simply dangerous.

[...] Windows Vista is by far the most resource hungry and memory usage extensive yet operating system available to date, as has been shown by the high-end system specifications that needed to run Windows Vista properly and efficiently, especially if you intends to enable all advanced Windows Vista features in a Windows Vista Premium Ready PC. One way to run Windows Vista faster is to add and install as many memory or RAM as possible to your desktop or laptop computer. However, don’t buy the memory chips as many as you can even your system can support it, or you have too many money to spare, as there is upper limits on physical memory and virtual memory address space that Windows Vista can support and recognize. Windows Vista supports up to 4GB RAM virtual memory address range for most editions of 32-bit Windows Vista with the exception of Windows Vista Starter edition, and up to 128GB of physical memory for most editions of 64-bit Windows Vista except Windows Vista Home Basic and Home Premium. (Windows Vista Starter edition is not available in 64-bit or x64 version) [...]

[...] Windows Vista has a demanding hardware specification for Premium Ready PC that will enable all advanced 3D features that make Windows Vista a worthy upgrade from Windows XP such as Windows Aero glass transparency effect, Windows Flip 3D and Windows DreamScene. However, with some simple utility, you can actually make and transform Windows XP with 3D features from Windows Vista without even upgrading the system hardware such as graphics card. One of them is TopDesk which enables Windows Flip 3D Vista feature in Windows XP. Another tool is Madotate which will transform Windows XP desktop into flippable 3D desktop.
[...] One of the new feature in Windows Vista is Windows Flip 3D. Windows Flip 3D is the new windows navigation and management in Windows Vista that allows users to easily identify and jump or switch to another open window by displaying 3D snapshot thumbnail preview of all windows in stack that is scrollable with mouse’s wheel or arrow keys, on the support of Windows Aero Glass transparency effects. However, Windows Flip 3D idea is not new. Mac OS X Expose feature has allowed user dynamically tile all the open windows so that you can view the thumbnail and find the window you’re looking for more quickly. And there is alternative program or application that enable functionality similar to Windows Vista Flip 3D Windows XP. Otaku Software TopDesk [...]
