Free Download: Vista and Office 2007 Preview Handler Pack to Support More File Types
Windows Vista and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 has built-in previews functionality which enables you to preview or view the contents of certain files without actually opening it. The build-in previews feature comes with preview handlers that support Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, font files, video files, audio files, and a few other file types that are common and used regularly as email attachments. However, if there’s no supported preview handler for a particular file type, such as .aspx source code file, .zip, .rar or other files, you won’t be able to just click on it and view the contents automatically in the preview pane.
Luckily, Windows Vista and Office Outlook 2007 allow developers to develop and implement custom preview handlers for any file type, which after registering the handlers, users can instantly gain preview capabilities for those file types in Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista. Vista and Office 2007 Preview Handler Pack is one such custom previewers or preview handlers that provides support for .cs, .aspx and .sql source codes. With the handler pack installed, you can just click on the file ending with extension of .cs, .aspx and .sql with preview pane on, and instantly view the file content in the preview pane.
Vista and Office 2007 Preview Handler Pack can be downloaded here. To install it you will need run the installer as Administrator. Beside, if you have any other file types in mind that you would like to has the preview ability too, simply tell the author and he may include the support for that file ext.

If you would like previewers and preview handlers for PDF, XML, ZIP, MSI, BIN, CSV, XPS, and XAML files so that you can also preview the files without opening the files in Vista, download sample previewers from Microsoft. It comes with source code of handler framework which can be ignored. To install the preview handlers, make sure you right click on it, and choose Run as Administrator.

Hello, based on my personal experience (I have tried it successfully) you can get more previews by integrating Vista Preview Pane with QuickView Plus (as IE plug in). (www.avantstar.com).
unfortunately it’s a shareware with 30 days trial. But there’s always another “way”.
The vendor tells about it still doesnt fully support Vista, but the IE plug in will still be installed as well.
It supports more than 400 file types included most of known documents, images, and even apps binaries. So superior in my opinion. No need to create specific preview handler any more. same thing due to other IE viewer activex plug ins.
1. Download and install QuickView Plus. Launch it, Configure your custom file for IE plug in by clicking View – Confifugure QuickView Plus – Applications – Internet Explorer (IE plug in). then add your custom files (e.g. .dwg, .psd, .dll etc with their correct content type (MIME)
2. Download MSDN Preview Handler. Install it.
3. Download Preview Handler Editor or Preview Handler Configure. Open it then Look for “MSDN Internet Explorer Preview Handler”. select and add your custom files
4. Activate Vista /Outlook preview pane. Select your file. the preview appears perfectly now.
That’s it. Hopefully works. To me, it always works so far.

I ended up installing v8.0 of the Reader and everything is fine.

Can anyone help? I have installed the preview handler packs above, but receive the following error whn previewing PDF files:-

ok tnx a lot.the IE7 and WMP 11 works just smoothly.at first a found it difficult to download the file.but after 1.30 hours i finally got it.to those whom havent downloaded the IE7 and WMP 11 i suggest you to download both the windows release and the other. and after you downloaded them just extract with your winzip and save them in a new folder.and go to the microsoft website and download them.
dont forget to download both of them and save them in a new folder.and many tnx to the admin(s)
and i would like to ask something from the admin.is it possible for us, users to download the new windows vista by its original version from this site? like we use the WindowsXp Sp2?and if we do, could you tell us how?
