BitDefender Antivirus/Antivirus Plus v10 Reviews and Comparisons
BitDefender Antivirus v10, formerly known as BitDefender Standard is the standard edition of BitDefender which contains BitDefender antivirus and antispyware module and capability. BitDefender Antivirus Plus v10, formerly known as BitDefender Professional Plus is the deluxe version of BitDefender Antivirus which integrates antivirus, antispyware, firewall and antispam functionalities. The Plus v10 is similar to BitDefender Internet Security, but less feature-rich with lacking of the parental control module and some web filtering features. Both applications provide state-of-the-art defense against current Internet threats, with version 10 been the latest release. Features include proactive detection, permanent anti-virus protection, rootkit detection and removal, web scanning, peer-to-peer (P2P) and IM applications protection, email protection, anti dialer, privacy protection, anti-phishing and etc.
CNet reviews BitDefender Antivirus 10 and concludes with good rating of 6.8 out of 10 that “Bitdefender will appeal to casual internet users who will likely get along fine without any problems, which is where the hassle-free nature of the software is an advantage. We’d have liked a bit more information on threats and more control over the fine tuning though, more experienced users will no doubt experience similar headaches. After extended testing with Bitdefender, and one hiccup too many, we still ended up going back to Zonealarm, for the reason that it’s still the best all-round security suite available.”
PCW reviews Bitdefender Antivirus Plus v10 security suite and concludes with overall rating of 3 out of 5 stars that it’s good for all-round support for home users, very easy to configure and control and has minimal interruptions. While it has limited network support, not a lot of information on threats and difficult to fine tune settings and adjust rules. Overall, it’s a straightforward anti-virus and security package for non-technical home users.

I have been experiencing troublesome problems since installing BitDefinder v10. I chose this software because Consumer Reports rated v9 highly. Sometimes, I can’t get my email or use the web at all. It takes a long time to delete emails. BitDefender can’y seem to solve the problems. Despite the many bugs, they have discontinued their toll free number and do not respond to email for tech support promptly. I assume that they are swamped with irate customers.

+ find the file named “hosts” in “C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc”
+ open & edit it with notepad
+ copy & paste the below lines to the end of the file
127.0.0.1 matrix.bitdefender.com
127.0.0.1 update.bitdefender.com
+ save it
+ now you can register with the keys above
=> that will prevent BitDefender checking the keys in the black list on the server

guys plz anyone help me , i opened the file (etc) but there isnt any file which have the name (host ) they are just 4 files and one of them has the name (imhosts) !!! so what am i suppose to do ?

Vá em “proriedades da pasta” e peça para mostrar os arquivos ocultos, lá vai estar o “hosts” dai vc vai em propriedades e desabilita as opções somente como leitura e oculto. adicione as linhas e pronto.
é bom ter um conhecimento para fazer alguns procedimentos.
