I know one producer in my country that actually did that - give high quality masters to pirates and take ‘royalties’ from the pirates - don’t have to pay the distributors, don’t have to pay tax, and actually reach a wider audience! Force us such a protection that inconvenience us, then protect that so much so those copies from bittorent doesn’t work… but the CD/DVDs bought off pirate shops actually work without problems!
