I have a xv6700 (verizon), and the trick surely has done wonders .! The battery DID life got prolonged by 3-4 hours ! (Mine is one year and some 2-3 months old) What i've seen in 6700 is the battery life gradually starts decreasing as time passes.

For whon the tricks didn't worked :use the phone with ALL RADIOS OFF (Bluetooth, WiFi and Infrared ) Set the beam off and check..

I have a t mobile dash and hacking the hell out of it....and I have to say that the battery life of this thing is very very good. I'm satisfied with it 100% The only time that It will drain is when I'm using the internet explorer or the PDA features for a prolonged while. I work 8 hours a day and do not run out of battery. Just wanted to share that with the rest of the world. Unless the dash 2 comes out for t mobile or something better than the dash...i'm not going to own another phone.

Tried this on my PPC-6700 and the battery life REMAINS HORRIBLE. I will never again have a WM phone, 80% due to terrible battery life.

To the author of this article: You sound like you understand in theory what is supposed to happen, but you can see from real life people that we are all disappointed with our battery life. Did you TEST your results? On what device? What were the results?

I thnk it worked, but you ust have bluetooth off and wireless off unless being used, BT and WIFI draw so much power as to make any other power savings insignificant
