Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) Activated as Mandatory Check
Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) is a similar tool as Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) from Microsoft that checks and validates via an online validation process to verify that the copy of Microsoft Office System productivity suite or their individual applications installed on your system is genuine, licensed and legal. Previously, genuine Office validation process is voluntary, but as of October 2006, the Office Genuine Advantage validation test is mandatory.
Microsoft will require Office XP, Office 2002, Office 2003, Office 2007 System or later version of Office suites or individual applications of Office such as Word or Excel to be validated when users want to download Office Online templates and other add-ons or updates from within Microsoft Office System 2007 applications, or when want to access downloads from the Microsoft Download Center that are reserved for genuine users and other special offers.
By January 2007, Office customers must also complete the OGA authentication test to use Office Update to download updates.
Users who unknowingly acquired counterfeit or pirated versios of Microsoft Office System should contact Microsoft to check if they qualified to receive a complimentary copy of Microsoft Office.

Any way to remove Office Genuine Advantage? I was trying to update a language pack from Microsoft and they downloaded OGA without my consent. I don’t even have Office on my computer but I cannot remove OGA!

The keygen is enough to install with a VLK, but will not pass OGA. Updates from the Microsoft website are unavailable until OGA is passed.

Installed Enterprise edition with leaked VLK. At office update site, it appeared to validate and pass OGA, but the site referred to the office edition as Office 2003, not Office 2007. So, I’m not totally convinced it passed.

Now that MS have implemented mandatory Office Genuine Advantage checks at the Office Update site, does anyone have a fix that will address this issue for Office 2003?

yes there is a way to patch OGA.What u can do is share a product key with a friend who has already installed genuine version.and it will pass the OGA test by microsoft sure.

OFFICE 2003
I installed a copy of Office 2003 on a pc and used a keygen created key. When I went to the Office Update site, it installed the relevant control, and verified the Office as genuine. I was then able to update. It also passes the validation when downloading templates etc.
On another pc, by deleting the relevant registry keys, I was able to force Office to prompt me for a new key, and a keygen key worked as per above. But this was on a copy of Office which had not been through the OGA process at all. The information as to which keys to delete came with the keygen programme.
I do not know what the position is if you go through OGA with a bad key first, and then try to change the key afterwards.
If all else fails, gen a new key and then re-install Office from scratch.
But make sure that it is an Office 2003 keygen.

I´ve used the Key Generator and everything went OK. I was able to pass the OGA and I´m able to download templates, etc.
I don´t know if MS changed their validation routine or not but I have no problems.

OpenOffice? Well it is good, even though I can’t use it on my Tablet PC (no TIP support).
The main reason for wanting MS is Outlook 2003. It is *much* better than any open source offerings once you are interested in calendaring and tasks - mainly because you can drag and drop things between mail, calendar and tasks.
So personally I just pay up. Downloading and running key generators seem a very risky thing to do.

If you are that worried about a keygen, then run it on an old pc that is separate, and re-install the OS if you have problems. You then write down the key(s) generated, and key it into the program that wants it on the main pc. Virus writers are clever, but I have yet to have trouble with a virus getting into a computer in a licence key.

My version of Office 2007 Enterprise Edition is cracked (!) and is fully functional. Upside is that supplied key allows me to receive updates. Downside is that it does NOT pass OGA - so, I can’t get templates (great for resumes). I suggest downloading the templates using another machine with a fully functional version of Office, and then transferring the templates to your own machine, since the templates are nothing more than mere documents you can theoretically create yourself.

MS are now adding the keygen’d keys to their OGA process so that they will not pass.
Someone needs to develop a patch similar to the wga patches.

I was told my office 2003 was not genuine, so I uninstalled it and installed open office instead. Problem solved- at least until there’s a crack for OGA.

The solution to this problem is on the page at

Essentially, install Office and use a keygen’d key to get it working. Go to the update site and it will fail.
Then replace the dll file in accordance with the instructions on that page.
You must go to the update site and fail the test - and then change the dll file. You cannot do it the other way round.

I successfully downloaded many Office update .EXE (validat required). from MS website

Note: The OGA crack will fail when trying to download templates (it says it can’t be validated) even if the Microsoft site says your genuine IF you have older 2003 and other apps installed. Make sure to remove things like Frontpage 2003, Small Business Tools, Office Web Components 2003, and any other related things that might be installed as they will keep you from being able to download templates even though your system is genuine!
