Go to your system32 folder (usually C:\Windows\system32) and look for LegitCheckControl.dll

Right-click, select properties, and then the version tab. It should say your version at the top

well i tryed it all and i cant finde a valid key and it wont let me update crap and my copy was valid be for microsoft caned me lejet windows cd that has never been out of my sight and cost me $139.00 but yet microsoft seems to think i am useing a bootleg hrs on the phone with thim only to be f up the but if you can come up with somthing eals that mite work let us know

I also recently re-intalled windows and now sp2 requres the validation. I’ve tried replacing the legitcheckcontrol.dll with dan’s version, but upon validating my copy of windows it failed. I will try helios post (20 i think) but any other suggestion would be great; especially since wga has been updated to a new version

Well, it’s 24 Feb, and apparently a new validation was created, so now what? I just lost my entire machine due to a virus, so I was forced to re-install… and I’m getting no where
