Norton SystemWorks 2006 Basic Edition is an utility to enhance system performance and help to diagnose, repair, and recover computer problem. Norton SystemWorks 2006 Basic Edition doesn’t have antivirus component, but it has 4 protection and optimization components, i.e. Norton Cleanup, Norton GoBack that undo PC problems by restoring PC to a previous healthy state or restoring files that have been deleted or modified, CheckIt Diagnostics and System Optimizer that allows user to change setting configurations within Windows XP.

PC Advisor reviews Norton SystemWorks 2006 Basic Edition and concludes that “we liked the idea of being able to buy a cheaper package that gives you all the useful tools found in SystemWorks without forcing you to opt for Norton AntiVirus. There are lots of other virus protection suites on the market, some of which cost nothing. However, it’s a good idea to opt for a package such as this that fills in the gaps left by free products.”
