Criss Angel Walks on Water Magic Tricks
Criss Angel born Christopher N. Sarantakos is an American musician, magician, illusionist, escapologist, stunt performer, and the creator and director of the Criss Angel Mindfreak television series on A&E Network. Now he is trying to simulate and replay what Jesus Christ did more than 2000 years ago, by walking on water, in a magic and illusion performance that’s stunning.
What’s the secret of Criss Angel walks on water magic trick? How he does it? The secret will most likely points to illusion and camera video editing. The most convincing explaination to the trick is that Criss Angel was walking on some kind of floating device, or plexiglass, or transparent plastic bridge, or glass path, or vertical poles, which may have some gaps for swimmers to occasionally swin across it. Some also suggested that wires support was been used to hang him, which may be positioned under his arm, especially on the first 25 seconds or so. For all these tricks and optical illusion to happen, so all the ‘audiences’ and ’swimmers’ in the vidoe are actually the actors in the magic that were hired to add realistic and believable feel. The video may be edited by using CGI to hide the think platform in the water.
Some even suggested that the shots were taken on different times that is edited together to give you that illusion of reality. The theory is that because at some times he demonstrated no weight hitting the surface, while on the far away shots, his weight is visible as he hits a surface. Another theory is that the toes on his back foot bend as walking on a flat surface, while on another sequence of the video which supposedly shot from Criss Angel’s camera as he looks down while walking, his toes no longer bend.
Some interesting points highlighted from the video on the magic are:
- Criss Angel walked on his heels and his pant hung down and covered the heels.
- His walking style looks unreal and unnatural on the front part of the magic.
- The girl in red bikini swam underneath the water instead of crossing the path.
- Water line on his pants changed, if you believe that the magic sequence was shot in multiple times.
- A girl crossed between his legs after he took down his shoes, so the area may be without any platform.
- In some shots, Criss Angel didn’t show weight hitting or weight shifting when stepped down, which made suspension possible.
- His feet seemed like not stay in a position when stepping.

Plexiglass, occultism, demonology, illusionism…all possible thoeries. Here’s one for you, He sold his soul. I mean, is that really so far out of bounds? I used to think he was simply a great illusionist until I saw one of his shows. Of course the show seemed fake. That’s not what I’m talkiing about. This was after the show as he’s just strolling on the beach and he decides to sit in midair. I could plainly see the sand under him and it’s not like you can’t tell if something clear is in sand. but he just sat down. not for a show or anything, almost like he wanted to sit and not on the sand I reiterate my poit, he sold his soul and now knows something the rest of us don’t.

What about using aerogels? They are super light and basically invisible. This would make it possible for him to do the trick publicly in any water and be far more impressive than if he only did it in set locations with a lot of prep time. Look aerogels up and you will see that those could work.

All these theories may work for this video but if you watch the other videos where he walked on top of an aquarium or the one where he crossed the lake. in the lake video someone actually swam straight in front of him and touched his foot and nothing was there, i thought of the glass box theory too. now my mind is stumped so go watch those videos and then come up with a theory cuz i have no clue

It’s not an illusion when it is done with camera tricks, its called trick photography. And when the audience is acutally actors in on the trick its call lying, (deception) I saw a video from the 1930’s of a 30 ft. gorilla on top of the empire state building was that an illusion also, or do we call that make believe?

I read somewere that Criss Angel himself even said that there is no such thing as magic. Everything he does is an illusion. The plain and simple thing about it is, everything he does, is an illusion, and he has the best illusions out there.

I love the innocents that you guys have, there is a part of me that’s really pleased that some of you are trusting enough to actually believe he is walking on water! There is something beautiful in that! I know some of you think he’s some sort of mystic being and does have special magic powers that he’s not telling us about. Remember, the smartest thing the devil ever did was to convince the world he doesn’t exist. However, I am sorry to say that I think it’s hilarious that you idiots are gullible enough to believe him!! Look at the end of the video when they’re interviewing the girl that swam under it flashes back and shows her swimming under him and her bubbles actually break the surface of the water where he is stepping suggesting that there is no platform.

Ever consider that he might actually be walking on water????
Criss constantly makes mention of mysticism’s for a reason…Maybe, he, being an initiate of probably some super secret esoteric order, knows something along the lines of “magic” and “occult” that isnt acknowledged by the outside world….Of course he claims he has no such powers, but Maybe he just says that to mislead….Maybe that adds the touch to the whole “mind freak” theme of the show…He’ll make you think of something different.
Maybe its his mind, and not any wires/camera angles/actors that does the freaking????
Seems like a rather plausible idea…Certainly to anyone who knows anything of these subjects. And, i dont know, im sorta reticent to dismiss everything he does by claiming everyone whos ever seen or been affected by his magic is a hired actor…

look at the very end where he is about to take the step out of the pool
he puts his foot down like he was going to take one last step, then realizing there wasn’t a platform there, so he just took the longer step on the cement

Okay..here goes. Each step lands him on an individual small clear platform which is mounted to the bottom of the pool. The “actors” swimming around are for show and cameras only. He can identify the placement of each platform because each is marked with something he can clearly see through the glasses he always wears while “walking” on water. Can he do it without the glasses???
