Criss Angel Walks on Water Magic Tricks
Criss Angel born Christopher N. Sarantakos is an American musician, magician, illusionist, escapologist, stunt performer, and the creator and director of the Criss Angel Mindfreak television series on A&E Network. Now he is trying to simulate and replay what Jesus Christ did more than 2000 years ago, by walking on water, in a magic and illusion performance that’s stunning.
What’s the secret of Criss Angel walks on water magic trick? How he does it? The secret will most likely points to illusion and camera video editing. The most convincing explaination to the trick is that Criss Angel was walking on some kind of floating device, or plexiglass, or transparent plastic bridge, or glass path, or vertical poles, which may have some gaps for swimmers to occasionally swin across it. Some also suggested that wires support was been used to hang him, which may be positioned under his arm, especially on the first 25 seconds or so. For all these tricks and optical illusion to happen, so all the ‘audiences’ and ’swimmers’ in the vidoe are actually the actors in the magic that were hired to add realistic and believable feel. The video may be edited by using CGI to hide the think platform in the water.
Some even suggested that the shots were taken on different times that is edited together to give you that illusion of reality. The theory is that because at some times he demonstrated no weight hitting the surface, while on the far away shots, his weight is visible as he hits a surface. Another theory is that the toes on his back foot bend as walking on a flat surface, while on another sequence of the video which supposedly shot from Criss Angel’s camera as he looks down while walking, his toes no longer bend.
Some interesting points highlighted from the video on the magic are:
- Criss Angel walked on his heels and his pant hung down and covered the heels.
- His walking style looks unreal and unnatural on the front part of the magic.
- The girl in red bikini swam underneath the water instead of crossing the path.
- Water line on his pants changed, if you believe that the magic sequence was shot in multiple times.
- A girl crossed between his legs after he took down his shoes, so the area may be without any platform.
- In some shots, Criss Angel didn’t show weight hitting or weight shifting when stepped down, which made suspension possible.
- His feet seemed like not stay in a position when stepping.

Guys My uncle is Criss Angel. He is an illusionist!Int he walk on water thing he didnt use special shoes that look like his feet. he learned how to walk on a wire for this trick and with the water it makes it easier to balance. There is a few platforms though. They are small sqyares floating under the water. this is used if he starts to get wobbly and needs support. So there is no such thing as magic and most of his tricks are all fake. (the audience is in on it) Hope that cleared things up. OH AND I AM HIS NEPHEW IM NOT JUST SOME GUY SAYING I AM CUZ THATS RETARTED!!!!

i my self do a lot of magic and in this trick there is no platform under neath criss it is simply his shoes and i no that u say he takes OFF his shoes but that is the trick… the shoes that he takes off are simply just a throw off… what appear to be his feet are actaully the real shoes. its a special scientificly designed shoe that creates and allows u to literally walk on water… its hard to explain it but its real… he just had them designed by professionals to make them look exactly like his real feet…

Look at the last 13 seconds of the video. There will be a lady with bery nice boobies. Then it will switch to a shot from Cris’ camera. Here you can see the lady swim underneath him. She blows out air bubbles. Notice the the air bubble don’t make it to the surface. They stop right under his feet. He must be walking on clear glass or plastic.

by the way… the scene with the girl in the red swimsuit swimming beneath him is one of the shots where hs is dangling from something above supporting his weight so there is no need for a weght bearing structure beneath the water for that shot. so, sory collin, since you are with the crew, it’s obviously your job to perpetuate the illusion, but you also know how fake it is. (it’s actually one of his worst illusions, it’s transparent as hell, even on tv)

ok first he fills the pool with a bunch of actors. it’s hard to tell that they are actors but there are 2 dead givaways that the people in the pool are actors. 1. he comments that it’s really cold and he can’t believe that people are in the pool. well duh, you paid them to be there. 2. a girl is playing with a BEACH BALL!! when was the last time you saw anyone with a beach ball? let alone a grown woman? ok so it’s an obvious prop, giving away the obvious setup-ness of the illusion. after that, the rest is easy, some water colored or translucent structure just beneath the surface of the water to bear his weight, edited together with some scenes of him dangling (obviously hanging from something) over water but obviously not actually putting his weight down. voila! bad illusion!!

I have the utmost respect for Criss’s magic. I’m guesing it took a lot of hard work and practice to perform this one. Maybe a tiny little dot painted on the top of each post. There are several known materials with the same index of refraction as water that would make them invisible under water. Simple, but elegant illusion. Criss…you are the best
