Hi

I bought a hp pavilion 8000 dv for $50 because there were pink lines where white areas should be. My 12 yo son said he could fix it. I booted it up and he gently tapped the screen on the lh side about 6 inches from the sides and would you believe it, the screen turned white again. No pink lines now for over 6 months, could be loose back lighgting connector.

I recently bought an HP dv8000t with 7600 256MB Graphics Card, 80 GB HDD, 1GB RAM, 1.83 GHZ Duo Core. While everything worked properly including the keyboard, the screen is too flexible and has a connection problem. The screen's color has gone bad displaying pink in random areas. DO NOT BUY this POS. Get something else like a Toshiba or Fujitsu.
