Mio A701 is GPS-enabled Windows Mobile-based PDA smart phone communicator that based on a 520MHz Intel XScale PXA270 processor, 192MB of memory, SirfStar III chipset and runs on Windows Mobile 5 aka ‘Magneto’. Mio A701 features stylish candybar form-factor, 2.7-inch QVGA LCD display, 1.3 megapixel camera, supports tri-band GSM with GPRS, Bluetooth 1.2 connectivity, SD/MMC slot for memory expansion and integrated GPS receiver to make it complete handheld organiser with GPS satellite navigation functionality.
CNet reviews Mio A701 GPS Windows Mobile PDA and gives a very good rating of 7.5 out of possible 10, and concludes that “Mio A701 is a decent GSM/GPRS/GPS handheld with some nice features, although it does lack Wi-Fi. We aren’t the biggest fans of Mio Map, but you can buy the A701 without the navigation software and install something else if you like.”
