Compaq Presario SR1710NX desktop PC is powered with 2.0 GHz AMD Sempron 3400+ Processor, 256 MB RAM, 7200 rpm 100 GB Hard Drive and CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive. The Compaq Presario PC also has front panel 9-in-1 memory card reader which supports Smart Media, xD, Multimedia Card, Secure Digital (SD), Compact Flash l, Compact Flash ll, MicroDrive, Memory Stick, and Memory Stick Pro, 2 FireWire (IEEE 1394) port at front and back, and 7 USB 2.0 port.


NewsFactor Magazine reviews Compaq Presario SR1710NX desktop computer, rated the computer 3.5 out of 5, and concluded that for an entry-level PC, the Presario SR1710NX has surprising performance potential. It’s a bit sluggish out of the box, but some basic tweaking, such as a memory upgrade, can turn this model into a satisfying performer. For the price, this Presario is a winner. It’s a good choice as a secondary or entry-level PC that doesn’t have to handle top-of-the-line gaming and video-editing tasks.

Pros: Fast processor and large storage capacity; runs cool and quiet; lots of upgrade potential.

Cons: Too little installed memory; optical drive does not write to DVD; so-so graphics.
