LG KG800 Chocolate Phone Review by Tech Digest

LG-KG800 is a slider mobile phone from LG Chocolate Black series. KG800 Chocolate phone features a “hidden” display which consists of touch keypads that remain unseen when not in use and will glow red when active. Other features are pretty standard with 2″ 256k LCD colour display, 1.3 megapixel camera, digital audio MP3, WMA, AAC support and 128MB memory. LG-KG800 has dimension of 9.5 x 4.8 x 1.5cm and weighes approximately 85g.
Tech Digest reviewed LG KG800 Chocolate phone and concluded that “we like this phone a lot and LG has good reason to expect the Chocolate to fly off the shelves. While it might not appeal to those who want their handsets to come brimming with technical goodies, there is no arguing that it looks fantastic and is sure to succeed on that factor alone.”

Hi there, i just got a chocolate from Bell and it comes with a sheet on how to transfer photos/videos via bluetooth. I went out and bought a bluetooth adaptor for my XP laptop and it worked. In your bluetooth setting, select “Pictures” as your exchange folder and your bluetooth software on your computer should see it.
Looks like you will have to use bluetooth in order to transfer videos/pics.
I haven’t figured how to transfer ringtones back onto the phone yet. Looks like Bell locked it down so they can charge us 7 bucks for each ringtone download.
Sadly, i want to exchange it though because of all the bad reviews that the screen will die wtihin 6 months.

1. how do you get videos and photos off of it?
2. is there any way to make music my ringtune without accessing internet through my phone?
3. how can i turn my phone onto speaker during a call?
if anyone knows the answer to any of these i would be very thankful. My email is xxthe.perfect.lie@hotmail.com

BonJovi: I also have the Bell version.
Still no dice on geting my photos transfered, but the ringtone thing was a simple-solve.
Note: TO DO THIS, you need Internet Access on your phone.
Step 1. Get an mp3 editing program like “Audacity” to edit songs.
Cut them down to about a minute or less to save yourself disk space on the phone.
Step 2. Go to http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/
and upload it using the directions on the site.
Note: You’ll need to find out your SMS address or whatever for it to work.
Step 3. The website will send you a text message with a link. On your phone, hit the top right button and select “Go”. The file download should be automatic.
Hope that helps! Also, if ANYONE has found a way to get photos and videos off, please let me know. That’s the one bane of my existance right now.

Ok tried bitpim doesnt want to work with bells version of this phone. Bells media backup doesnt do a hell of a lot, just puts music on. If anyone figures out how to transfer photos at least to and from the phone let me know. Also I cant seem to make a ringtone a song which is rediculous.
Please tell me im wrong and there is a way.

Ok got it working. First un-istall that uk software one. Doesnt seem to work. Install that software from the bell.ca website (i didnt get a cd either .. really stupid) The end of the installation it has a warning telling you how to install the drivers and connect to the pc. (read it) but it says dont search the internet for drivers, then click next for search automatically. I had to do this three times in a row. Then go to your phone under tools there is “media storage” say yes. Then it should work. Im going to try bitpim see if that will work better since bell sucks.

I just bought the LG Chocolate and now regretting it. This phone is a real POS. It won’t communicate with my PC, not thru’ Bluetooth nor USB with all possible software. Don’t buy this POS if you haven’t done so.
