Corel WordPerfect Office X3 Suite is an alternative to Microsoft Office for office productivity applications. WordPerfect Office X3 has a more visual, Windows XP-style interface, more functionality and even a colorful, streamlined look packaging. Office X3 Standard edition comes with comes with word processor Corel WordPerfect X3, spreadsheet Corel Quattro Pro X3, presentation package Corel Presentations X3.

Sci Tech Today reviewed Corel WordPerfect Office X3 Standard and concluded that it’s loaded with features and configuration options that provide many of the promised enhancements of the next version of Microsoft Office, Corel’s WordPerfect X3 Standard for $300 is a perfect alternative to Microsoft Office.

Pros: Improved user interface; PDF-creation capabilities; metadata-removal feature.

Cons: Microsoft Office users will experience a bit of a learning curve; lacks some of the more robust features of Excel and PowerPoint.

Verdict: WordPerfect Office X3 Standard Edition is for home and office users who want a power-packed upgrade from an earlier WordPerfect version or a strong alternative to Microsoft Office.
