Bypass Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Check in Windows Update
Update: WGA hacks listed here no longer works, visit here or here (look for WPA registry hack) for more methods of patching WGA update and more ways to hack wga to enable you to use Microsoft Update bypassing WGA validation and also disable and bypass “This copy of Windows is not genuine” warning message.
Microsoft has just released an compulsory update to Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) Validation Tool that makes most of the workarounds, hacks, patches and cracks to bypass and skip the WGA validation check useless.
Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool was introduced by Microsoft beginning from second half of 2005, where the tool will check and validate your system’s Windows XP whether it is licensed, certified as authentic, and published and supported by Microsoft, before you can obtain programs from the Microsoft Download Center or receive software updates from Windows Update.
With the new WGA update, it is now impossible to bypass Windows Genuine Advantage validation check by disabling or turning off WGA Validation Tool in Manage Add-Ons in Internet Explorer. The Enable and Disable settings for WGA Validation Tool no longer selectable, with the option greyed out so that you unable to select Disable to deactivate the WGA ActiveX.
Disable been disabled (greyed out) after the latest WGA update.
If your WGA Validation Tool ActiveX control in Internet Explorer’s Add-ons is deactivated or disabled, and you can’t enable the ActiveX control as the current version of WGA controls no longer allows you to change the state of enable or disable, as the radio buttons are greyed out. But if the Validation Tool stays disabled, you might have problem when using Windows Update or Microsoft Update, even after you applied other patches to bypass the validation process or using when using muBlinder. To reactivate and enable the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool, launch Registry Editor and navigate to following branch:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Ext\CLSID]
Then, change the value date of the key “{17492023-C23A-453E-A040-C7C580BBF700}” to 1 (enabled), which its initial value should be 0 (disabled).
However, it’s still possible to bypass the WGA check when using Windows Update by using the following method of Windows validation crack, at least for now:
- Launch Windows Update website.
- When prompted to choose either Express or Custom in Windows Update, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security and choose Internet.
- Set the Security Level for Internet zone to High by sliding the slider to the top.
- Click OK to continue.
- Now on Windows Update, click on Custom. Ignore any warning about ActiveX control been blocked.
- WGA validation will be bypassed, and you will see a list of updates available to your system or a blank page.
- Now go back to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security and choose Internet, and change back the Security Level to Medium, or simply click Default.
- Click OK to continue.
- If you see a blank page, click on any link under Select by Type or Select by Product that listed on the left pane to show the list of updates available.
- Continue to install updates for your Windows XP.
Set the security level to High.
A almost blank screen that most likely be seen after Windows Update bypass WGA validation and check for available updates with this method.
Update: Disable Genuine Windows Validation with JavaScript
This method to bypass WGA validation check has been around for a while, and it is still workable even after the latest around of update to Windows Genuine Advantage Tool (version 1.5).
Note: As with above method, both methods only workable to get pass the validation check on Windows Update, and not when you try to download from Microsoft Download Center.
When you arrive Windows Update screen when it asks you to choose Express or Custom, copy and paste the following JavaScript to the Address Bar of your browser.

Or, if you want some sort of notification that the WGA check has been disabled, you can use the following JavaScript. Again, copy and paste it to the Address Bar.

With the above JavaScript, there will be a prompt to notify you “WGA Check disabled”. To make thing easier, you can bookmark or add to favorites the JavaScript so that next time when needed, you just only need to click on the bookmark or favorite.

I can’t get on the internet at my dorm in college because of the bradford client. Will rickyvp’s method completely ignore the genuine windows? If so I’ll be able to get on the internet. I only ask because I did what he said and I still get the messages about how my windows may be a counterfeit.

The best way to get passed Windows Genuine Advantage is to let Auto Updated install it and then when the WGA setup Pops up cancel it, this way windows registers that it was installed even though it wasn’t and procedes to download and install the SP2 which is a very helpful tool. These tricks only patch Windows and also they aren`t 100% truthful. You have to fix basic problem: your CD-key is banned or not valid. To fix this problem you have to change CD-key. Thatway I have posted 4 tools to make your Windows GENUINE. hi, iv been able 2 dwnload and istall many upgrades such as sp2, media player 11 and ie7 using the patches mentioned. but nowi have gt the wgatray.exe and co. installed on me system, but when i search for them my system crnt pick them up. iv loked manually and automatically but i just crnt find them. plus thr isnt a system32 folder on my comp, is this because i am runnin xp corp sp2? and does any1 no wot folder they will be in instead or wot name they might have been changed to by microsoft (aka assholes) many thanks and thanks to all hu reply..

THAT’S IT LOG OFF AND LOG BACK ON NO REBOOT IS NEEDED
WHEN XP COMES UP YOU SHOULD SEE THE COMMAND WINDOW MINIMIZED IN THE TASKBAR.
WHEN XP COMES UP RIGHT CLICK THE TASK BAR CLICK TASK MANAGER
CLICK THE PROCESSES TAB AND YOU SHOULD SEE SLEEP.EXE AS A PROCESS IT WILL DISSAPEAR IN 35 SECONDS
AFTER IT DISSAPEARS
CLICK START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM LOOK AT THE PRODUCT ID BELOW “REGISTERED TO” YOU SHOULD NOW SEE THE PRODUCT ID
OF THE XP YOU GOT IT FROM AND YOU WILL BE LEGIT FOR WGA (AS LONG AS THE COMPUTER YOU GOT IT FROM WAS LEGIT)
AND MICROSCUM DOES NOT FIND OUT ABOUT THIS AND MAKE THE KEYS TAMPER-PROOF.
THE FUNNY PART OF THIS WHOLE THING IS 8 FILES TOTALING 134KB JUST WIPED OUT ALL MICROSOFT’S EFFORTS TO CONTROL XP
ANOTHER FUNNY THING ABOUT THIS IS THE XP CORP NON ACTIVATION STAYS IN PLACE SO YOU CAN REINSTALL XP-CORP THEN REINSTALL
THIS WORKAROUND OR CHANGE ALOT OF HARDWARE AND NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ACTIVATION.

Easy way, no hack. Install Win98SE, Install IE 6SP1. That’s it ! Go to MS Download. Get everything you want(even WMP 11 Beta). If you need patch for XP(or even Vista) get it from Windows Update Catalog. If you can see the catalog, click Personalize thingy. MS dont give a shit to 98 anymore. And so does virus/hack makers out there. They all aim XP now.

As of 17 June I have solved my WGA check Windows Update download blocking by using a simple and effective tool called MuBlinder http://www.p2plife.com/forums/Official_muBlinder_Page-t320.html
No mucking around!
I simply ran MuBlinder and updated through it
I was able to see all windows updates
Easy to use

Yes, there is a new way around this trash. Open up regedit, and then search for LegitCheckControl.dll. Next, highlight the LegitCheckControl.dll folder, and delete all entries to the right. Now, go to windows update, and choose custom, and you will be good to go.

well, i tried all the tricks on this page and it doesn’t work as it did last week. Microsoft has apparently found a solution. This is a pity since I just reinstalled Windows last night… so a lot security holes aren’t fixed and my pc is very vulnerable. Anyone found a new trick?

Doesn’t work now.. They seem to have caught on to this trick.. now it just takes you to the validate or show me other product updates.. and then the active x warning up top in the toolbar says it wasn’t able to run.. So even when you set the shit off it still tries to validate you.. They switched this like within the last couple days.. And i noticed it takes much longer to process your computer..
Screwed for now, i guess..

I purchased a legit PC with windows installed. When the HD corrupted and died, so did my operating system. As far as I am concerned I have paid for the privelige of using Windows XP and don’t care what I have to do to work around this validation rubbish.

Yes, this works well.. Just make sure you don’t download Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474) if its sitting there in the updates.. Matter of fact, make sure it never shows up again.. haha! Set it to never show again..

installs the WGATray.exe and reports a none genuine copy of windows everytime you boot and shutdown. anyone know email stevemazg@hotmail.com cos im just currious. I do have a original copy myself thank god.
